A Fantastic Gamay From The Graillot Family:
2016 domaine de fa Saint-Amour $36.50
The two brothers, Maxime and Antoine, from the legendary Graillot family in Northern Rhone, struck gold in 2013 when they discovered and purchased a 5 hectare vineyard named ‘En Besset’, located in the northernmost section of the appellation near Saint Amour and Julienas. The high altitude, stony hillside allowed them to make some serious Gamay with the juicy, wonderful freshness and florality of a Fleurie balanced by the old vine backbone of a granite laden Moulin à Vent. With this debut, the Graillot family has announced themselves as a force to be reckoned with in a region that is currently experiencing a vinicultural Renaissance. It’s as if you’re eating dark cherries and ripe raspberries while sitting on a gravel flower bed filled with roses. It’s bright, but structured. A perfect example of a great Beaujolais.

2017 Guy Breton Chiroubles $36.50
Tucked away up in the hills between Morgon and Fleurie, Chiroubles has often been described as “the most Beaujolais of the ten crus of Beaujolais.” In other words, everything that makes wines from this region so lovable—low alcohol, explosive flowery aromas, high-toned juicy fruit—are intensified in Chiroubles. “P’tit Max” Breton purchased some fruit here to compensate for the small yields in Morgon in 2017, and the new addition to the cellar is a made-in-heaven match with the house style. You’ll find no shortage of charm, gorgeous aromatics, and silky Gamay fruit to sink your teeth into, making his Chiroubles just about as enjoyable as they come.

2016 Georges Descombes Regnie $25
George Descombes is often credited with being one of the original 'Gang of Four' Beaujolais producers. These four winemakers (some say five) brought the region out of the 'dark ages', began working in the vineyards, converting to organic farming methods, and producing world-class wines. Yes! Beaujolais! World-Class!!!
Looking back even ten years ago, there wasn't much to get excited about. Now it's our house wine.
His Brouilly is like that friend that you want to invite to every party – he’s friendly, starts up conversation easily, and isn’t one to stir up drama.
The Regnie is that cool new kid with just the right amount of funk to get everyone talking.
