Renegade Wines October 2020 Newsletter

Another string of hot weather is here through the weekend so we've put together a Cold Pack that's just the ticket for these really warm days.
-
We begin with a crisp, refreshing Rose from the Loire Valley (the 'Owl Rose') made from Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Negrette and Gamay. It's pretty irresistible.
-
The second Rose is from Bandol, a nice counterpoint to the first one.
A blend of Mourvedre (50%) then Cinsault, and Grenache. Brisk yet fleshy, the wine conveys the warmth of the Mediterranean amid waves of fleshy cherry, orange zest, and red currant fruit accented by fragrant herbal garrigue.
-
The first white is from the region of Soave and 100% Garganega.
Pale, bright yellow. Pure and fresh aromas of lemon, crushed stone, and jasmine.
-
Our next white is from Musadet de Sevre-et-Maine at the mouth of the Loire River.
100% Melon de Bourgogne. This is our go to Oyster wine.
(sidenote: Ernst Storm makes an excellent local example from this grape)
-
Our final white is a lean, zippy trocken Riesling from Von Winning. Pure, fresh, and just a bit savory.
-
The final wine has been hard to keep in stock. 100% Cinsault from the South of France. Chill this down and enjoy.
-
The Cold Pack is on sale for $106 (usually $122).
Call or email to reserve yours.
It will keep you cool this weekend!

From one of our all time favorite wineries in Sicily: COS
These three new wines just arrived at Renegade.
-
2019 COS Rami $28
Made up of 50% Grecanico, 50% Insolia.
Aged in concrete with native yeast with 7-10 days of skin contact. The nose shows a beguiling mix of orange peel, yellow peach, flowers, and light spice. The palate has nice texture with orange peel and flowers, yellow peach and a bit of clove and spice on the finish.
-
2019 COS Frappato $28

Medium to light in body with gorgeous notes of cherry, blackberry, and tangerine peel. Hints of earth hide in the background while the finish unravels for minutes showing the depth of the wine.
-
2019 COS Nero di Lupo $24.50
100% Nero d'Avola.
The wine is fermented with ambient yeast and aged in concrete vats for nine months followed by three months in the bottle before release. Vibrant red fruit and structured tannins make this a fine match cured meats and pasta dishes.
