We can't believe it's been over two years since Giuseppe Russo was at Renegade pouring his brilliant wines from Mt Etna, Sicily. It was quite the evening for everyone as he shared his stories, receipes, and wines.

Fast foward to today and his new releases have just arrived on our doorstep so to speak. From his minerally, savory, fresh Rose to his tiny production San Lorenzo
bottling (330 cases a year). Certified organic from old and really old vines (40-100+ years).
These are really a treat to drink.
Here are the details:
-
2019 Nerello Mascalese Rose $26
This salty Sicilian rosé is one for the books. Pale and orange-hued, the juice is loaded with flavors of peach, salt, and fresh cut herbs, marked by a lingering (and pleasant) smokiness that only Etna Rosato could provide. For those who prefer a more savory style of rose, this is your wine.
-
2018 Nerina Etna Bianco $38.50
A wild blend of Carricante, Catarratto, Minnella, Inzolia, Grecanico and Coda di Volpe. This white wine is all about lemon zest, pear, white peach and crushed stone. Perfect with grilled sea bass.
-
2017 Fendo Etna Rosso $58.50
Spicy, exotic, crunchy wild berries, elegant and intense.
This is the lighter of the three reds in the line-up. A fantastic wine comprising of 94% Nerello Mascalese and 6% Nerello Cappuccio.
-
2017 Fendo di Mezzo Etna Rosso $58.50
What a beauty. Dark and red berry fruit, orange peel, hints of thyme and clove, with great, balanced intensity.
A very vivid wine.
-
2017 San Lorenzo Etna Rosso $58.50
Love Etna Rosso? You need to taste this bottle. Fruit for ‘San Lorenzo’ comes from a single-vineyard site in Etna. Notes of cherries, white pepper, blood orange, and volcanic rocks (yes...rocks!) dominate this strikingly savory wine. An elegant and pure expression of Mt Etna.
