Wines We Are Really Excited About - A Quick Spring Sale - Great Spring Sippers under $20

-

2015 Tatomer Gruner Veltliner John Sebastiano Vineyard $35
2016 Tatomer Spatburgunder Rose $26

We are wild about these wines for a simple reason: They're GREAT! The Gruner is lean, racy, great acidity & minerality which is something you do not come across in California Gruners. The rose (100% Pinot Noir) is refreshing, with nice light nuances of red berry fruit, a light spice note, and an incredibly clean finish. Bravo!
2012 Fiddlehead Cellars Pinot Noir Seven Twenty Eight Fiddlestix Vineyard $44
Nutmeg, crushed herbs, blueberries. Then wait for it...brambly blackberry, earthy graphite, dark plum & cherry notes. You get a sense of the soil, and the aging potential on the finish. Stellar juice.
2013 Fiddlehead Cellars Sauvignon Blanc Happy Canyon $26
Preserved lemons, grapefruit skin, apricot perfume. Amazing texture. This is a benchmark for Santa Barbara County.

2013 Diamond Creek Cabernet Sauvignon
Volcanic Hill: 100 Points
Gravelly Meadow: 99 Points
Red Rock Terrace: 99 Points

$225/bottle
This is a little piece (bottle) of California wine history. Founded in 1968, visionary pioneer Al Brounstein defied modern conventions and planted Bordeaux varietals on secluded Diamond Mountain. Nearly 50 years later the wines are still at the top of their game.
Volcanic Hill: From pure volcanic, iron-rich soil. A tour de force of a wine.
Gravelly Meadow: "This could pass for a La Mission Haut-Brion in a blind tasting" one critic stated. Full bodied yet extremely elegant. Pure blue and black fruits, incredibly long finish. Sensational.
Red Rock Terrace: Super-intense, rich, and powerfully dense, but with mind-boggling structure.
2013 Hall Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley $48
This was good on Day 1, really good on Day 2, and great on Day 3.
If you are a Napa Cab lover, this is terrific wine for the price. All the hallmarks of old-school Napa;
full bodied but with balance. Expressive. Mocha, dark plum, black cherry, a hint of earth and a kiss of oak,
2012 Domaine des Ouleb Thaleb Syrah 'Syrocoo' Casablanca, Morocco $20
So a well-known winemaker from the Northern Rhone, Alain Graillot, is out on a bicycle ride near Casablanca when he passes by a vineyard. He falls in love, strikes an agreemant to buy the farmers' grapes, and this Moroccan Syrah was born. A fun, juicy Syrah. Nice blue fruit notes, cherry, pencil lead, dark chocolate. A steal for the price!
2015 Domaine Eugene Carrel Vin de Savoie Jongieux $12.50
100% Jacquere. 100% Spring wine. A fresh, light, bright, apertif-style wine. Citrus, pear, minerals, fresh cut flowers. It's a wine that is too easy to drink. We love it with ceviche, shellfish, cheese.

Laurent Perrier Cuvee Rose Brut $65 (regularly $84) Buy a six-pack: $58/bottle

(and by the way, it's a burger wine!)
