After
running into one of the chef/owners at a
trade tasting recently, we went and tried
The Chanticlair about a week and a half
ago. We were so
excited for not just the food we enjoyed,
but the menu, wine list, and overall
ambience. We felt transported!
Nestled
in the heart of downtown right next to
Elsie's Tavern on West De La Guerra St.,
you feel more like you've stumbled upon
speakeasy in Paris. Menu is always
changing based on seasonality and what
looks the freshest at Farmer's Market, the
docks, and beyond.
Eclectic
decor mixed with the fun and funky
architecture of the building invite you to
enjoy the space immediately. Jenna
may have fallen in love with the glassware
the Champagne was served in, and that's
when we learned that everything there is
also for sale. From plates, to napkins, to
cups, everything is different and always
rotating.
While
we fine tune menu items and the wines to
pair, we wanted to let you know the Dinner
will be Tuesday July 14th. Reception
starts at 6:45 with Bubbly, and we sit
down for dinner at 7. There will be
3 savory courses along with a dessert
course. All the wines will be French
in honor of Bastille Day. The Chanticalir
is located at 113 W. De La Guerra St. We
hope you can join us!
Please
call (805) 568-1961 or email Renegade
Wines directly to make your
reservation.
As
we are still ironing out the details, we
don't have the exact cost, but hope to be
somewhere around $200ish all in with tax
and tip, give or take a little.
