Chianti region Angela Fronti is front and center"
She
hasn't slowed down yet. Praise has continued for the
current 2022 single vineyard bottlings.
Though
2021 is generally considered a 'classic vintage' with
great aging potential 2022, generally speaking, is more
approachable today and still a very, very good vintage.
Angela's 2022s are every bit as good as 2021; a bit more
generous, giving, lively and inviting.
These
are wines to enjoy today and for the foreseeable future.

A
quick note on the Gran Selezione deignation that was
introduced in 2014. It is meant to be a top tier above
Riserva in Chianti. The goal was to establish a clearly
defined top tier that would signal the very best wines of
the appellation.
With
Angela's wines we have no doubt; these are her best
offerings. What we appreciate (greatly) with her is that
her prices here are very reasonable for Gran Selezione
wines. We've noticed other producers taking advantage of
this tier and pricing there wines in the 150-400 dollar
range. We've tried a few and have always gone back to
Istine.
