2010 Sottimano Barbaresco Cotta $185
This is a Barbaresco for the Burgundy lover. Bright, saturated medium red.  Raspberry, brown spices and earth on the nose, accented by a note of wild sage.  At once silky and bright, showing tangy floral lift to the intense, tightly coiled red berry and earth flavors.  Juicy, sharply delineated wine with a sexy topnote of blood orange.  Finishes with fine tannins and terrific persistence and lift. 

2009 Fattoria Selvapiana Chianti Rufina Riserva Bucerchiale $90

An outstanding wine, and everything a Chianti ought to be. Red plum, tobacco, forest floor and potpourri spices on the sexy, very complex nose. Dense, sweet, suave and deep, with insidious intensity to the multilayered flavors of blueberry, tobacco leaf and loam. Wonderfully silky finishing with fine-grained tannins and lingering ripe red cherry and spice flavors. The 2009 vintage doesn't get any better than this.

2012 Benoit Ente Puligny-Montrachet Folatieres En la Richarde $365
